Storyline

Throughout the summer of 2010, violence between the Mexican Government and drug cartels continued to escalate. Despite increased efforts by the government to gain control, the situation has continued to worsen . Curfews and random searches served more to alienate the populace than to restore control. There was a growing feeling of unrest among the populace as it appeared the government was nearly as dangerous as the gangs themselves.

In June, Pablo Villa, the leader of the El Diablo Amarillo crew, organized the major cartels under his command with additional irregular guerrilla fighters made up of civilians and peasants. He claimed publicly that the government of Mexico could not stop him and that the President was "a shadow" and had no real authority. Mexico plunged into revolution. Mexican President Thomas Chong made an international plea for help. Many members of the Mexican army and police are still loyal to Chong, but won't be able to hold out for long.

Rumors of violence across the Rio Grande begin almost instantly, but nothing credible can be cited. In late August members of the militia group The Texas Minutemen clash violently with Villas guerrillas in Presidio, Texas. The guerrillas are repelled from the town in a fierce 6 hour battle that leaves 17 dead, 32 wounded, and the western half of the town in ruins. The guerrillas are pushed out of the town, but not out of the country. The Texas Minutemen regroup at Alpine, TX along with other supporters who are prepared to repel additional attacks with or without outside help.

The US Border Patrol also reports numerous small arms conflicts with Mexican Irregular troops. The Texas Governor sends National Guardsmen to back up the Border Patrol. President Skroob organizes JTF Pershing to shore up the beleaguered forces and to drive the guerrillas back. JTF Pershing quickly drives the guerrillas back out of Texas, and continues into Mexico to support the Loyalists in their attempt to regain control of their country. The situation is critical and has consequences that can reach far across the border.
